CARROLLTON, GA – Greenway Medical Technologies has tapped Dell to help it offer its EHR, practice management and interoperability solution, PrimeSUITE 2011, as a hosted technology for physician practices.

Greenway officials say Dell will help offer its customers secure, compliant connectivity that meets HIPAA requirements, enhanced by the efficiency and scaling advantages of hosting technology. Dell's cloud-based health information technology solutions simplify information access, management and archiving for medical professionals and healthcare organizations.

Through its Unified Clinical Archiving (UCA) solution, Dell manages more than four billion medical images and studies for healthcare organizations.

"By providing PrimeSUITE through the cloud, Dell is further simplifying EHR implementation and use for Greenway customers so that they can focus on using electronic patient information to improve care," said August Calhoun, vice president of Dell Healthcare and Life Sciences Services.

"Right now there is a lot of attention being paid to cloud technology for a variety of professional and consumer services," added Greenway President and CEO Tee Green. "For us it is really about offering the right fit for our customers, be it a cloud- or premise-based approach, and giving them the solutions they need to advance care coordination. Care coordination is where truly innovative healthcare and healthcare information technology is being put to its best use, and we believe Dell's abilities complement our goals for a smarter, more sustainable healthcare system."
