MIAMI – Miami-based GenerationOne is partnering with the University of Miami Miller School Of Medicine and the College of Engineering to leverage mobile healthcare technologies and telemedicine to contribute to the care of individuals with chronic diseases.
The partnership aims to advance the GenerationOne mobile health solution, which uses mobile technology and proprietary phones to engage individuals in the active management of their chronic conditions and wellness.
Through collaboration, advanced scripts and disease management protocols will be developed to deliver clinical decision support to help guide and monitor individuals throughout their daily care routines.
Spearheading the relationship for the University of Miami are Bernard A. Roos, MD, director of the Division of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine and a professor of medicine, neurology and exercise and sport sciences and director of the Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center at the Miami VA Healthcare System; and Herman S. Cheung, James L. Knight Professor of Biomedical Engineering and a professor of medicine and orthopaedics and senior VA Research Career Scientist. The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is a primary affiliate of the Miami VA Medical Center.
