ROCKFORD, IL –  Crusader Community Health, one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Illinois, is preparing to implement an electronic medical record and practice management system for its 54 providers and four locations.

The FQHCs will be deploying an EMR/PM system from Westborough, Mass.-based eClinicalWorks.

Crusader Health Center provides healthcare to more than 42,000 people annually through its four locations in the Rockford, Ill. area.

Center officials say using eClinicalWorks EMR/PM will streamline processes between practice locations and promote patient safety while reducing costs.

"Crusader is the only FQHC serving Northwest Illinois and it sees nearly 600 new patients per month," said Gordon Eggers, CEO of Crusader Community Health.

"We needed a unified system that would help us streamline operations between locations, while offering excellent and affordable care to our patients. We selected eClinicalWorks for its unique abilities to provide proactive analysis of key financial and clinical performance indicators, and its commitment to the requirements of FQHCs," Eggers said.

Crusader has also chosen to implement eClinicalWorks Enterprise Business Optimizer (eBO), which uses meta-data to give the practice more flexibility through the creation of customized reports and by performing clinical and financial analysis.

"We have worked closely with federally qualified health centers to enhance our products in order to meet the unique needs of these centers," said Girish Kumar Navani, CEO and co-founder of eClinicalWorks.

"FQHCs are a growing market for implementing electronic health records and we have had great success implementing our solutions in these centers. Crusader selected eClinicalWorks partly based on our track record in this area and we look forward to working with them to make this project a success," he said.
