WASHINGTON – The HIT Standards and Policy Committees have scheduled meetings, with meaningful use still on the radar.
Both meetings will be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C., with dial-in and Web conferencing available. The public will be given an opportunity to comment at the close of each meeting.
The HIT Standards Committee will meet Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. EDT. The agenda includes an update to the meaningful use quality measure grid. A discussion of privacy and security and standards implementation will follow. Lee Jones, program manager of the Health Information Technology and Standards Panel will identify implementation specifications and discuss the maturity taxonomy process and issues regarding adoption of standards and incentives.
The HIT Policy Committee will meet on Friday, Sept. 18, from 8:30 am to 3 pm EDT. David Blumenthal, MD, National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, will give opening remarks.
The agenda includes a review of privacy and security policy and issues, patient control of health information, secondary use of data, data storage and exchange, transparency and auditing.
