ATLANTA – Fresh off the signing of a contract with Singapore's largest healthcare provider, Eclipsys has hired a healthcare veteran to continue its momentum in the Far East.
The Atlanta-based provider of clinical, revenue cycle and access management software on Wednesday named David J. van Eck vice president and general manager of the company's Asia-Pacific operations. A 20-year veteran of the international healthcare industry who held high-profile, Asia-based posts at Oracle and Elekta AB, van Eck will work out of Eclipsys' new Singapore office.
The hiring comes only two weeks after Eclipsys announced an agreement with SingHealth, the largest healthcare group in Singapore, to implement Eclipsys' medication management solutions, Sunrise Pharmacy and Knowledge-based Medication Administration, at the KK Women' and Children's Hospital. The solutions will provide clinicians at KKH, an 830-bed integrated women's and children's hospital, with fully integrated medication management workflows to help improve clinical outcomes by reducing the potential for errors and enhancing medication turnaround times.
SingHealth, which consists of three hospitals, five national specialty centers and a network of nine so-called "polyclinics" and records approximately 3 million patient visits each year, had contracted last October with Eclipsys to implement Sunrise Clinical Manager.
