DEVENTER, NETHERLANDS – RISO, the Radiotherapeutic Institute in Deventer, Netherlands, will implement the RayStation treatment planning system from RaySearch Laboratories. The RayStation system will be used for conventional 3D-CRT treatments as well as more advanced treatments such as IMRT.
RISO offers radiotherapy for several area hospitals, offers external beam treatments and specializes in brachytherapy for prostate cancer.
Their system will include functionality encompassing both fundamental and advanced tools for an efficient treatment planning process. Clinicians will be able to evaluate the impact of changing different treatment priorities in real-time.
In terms of technical features the system offers top specifications,” said Rik Westendorp, medical physicist at RISO. “Another important aspect for us is that RayStation’s well-designed user interface fully lives up to current software standards enabling a smooth and efficient workflow.”
