Centros Especializados de San Vicente Fundacion, a non-profit private institution in Colombia, has enlisted Orange Business Services to integrate and deliver technology and communications services in its new branch. Orange will provide services integration and network infrastructure to the new branch comprising 12 specialized health centers.
“In the hospital’s quest to be one of the most important digital institutions in Latin America, its challenge was to select the right technological partner to both fit our need and provide a good level of service that supports high-quality medical care,” said Guillermo Leon Valencia, MD, director of the hospital.
Orange will integrate an innovation real-time hospital asset and resource tracking system, based on RFID technology. The machine-to-machine solution allows hospital staff to know instantly the location of key surgeons and specialists.
Orange will also manage the hospital’s data center, which includes an application for storing patient data that the company developed specifically for the project. A nurse-call system for 220 patient beds encompasses a cloud-based IP Telephony system and the hospital’s information system.
The hospital will certify its processes and construction by industry bodies such as Joint Commission International and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) to ensure that their medical services meet international standards. Orange also implemented green solutions including thin clients, platform virtualization and physical infrastructure.
