GLASGOW, Scotland – The Greater Glasgow & Clyde and Fife Health Board of Scotland has ordered 11 DR systems from imaging IT vendor Carestream Health.
The organization is in the process of completing two new ambulatory care hospitals - The Victoria on the south side of Glasgow, and the Stobhill Hospital on the city's north side. Carestream health will install three Kodak Directview DR 7500 systems at the Victoria facility and three DR 7500s and a DR 3500 system at Stobhill Hospital.
Both facilities are considered key parts of the modernization of Glasgow's health system. The Victoria is expected to treat around 400,000 patients annually when it opens later this year. The £100 million Stobhill hospital will provide advanced health facilities to the residents of Glasgow.
The Fife Health Board will install two of the DR7500 systems at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline and one of each system in Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy and the new St. Andrews Memorial Hospital at St. Andrews.
"Customers are choosing digital products from Carestream Health to improve both the quality and cost of patient care," said Anton Graule, Carestream Health's regional manager, Europe North. "Installations of the DR 7500 now include our latest industry leading software to help increase productivity and image quality. We are rapidly expanding our DR base across Europe as our innovative solutions meet the application, workflow and budget requirements of an increasing number of healthcare institutions."
