DELAWARE VALLEY, PA – The Albert Einstein Healthcare Network will begin implementing new eLearning software in preparation for a large-scale electronic medical record platform.

The health system, which serves the Pennsylvania communities of North Philadelphia and Montgomery County, expects to roll out 17 new modules of the Cerner operating system.

"Implementing an advanced clinical information technology solution will give caregivers throughout the Albert Einstein Healthcare Network access to evidence-based information, allowing them to more easily provide the highest quality care to our patients. A successful implementation of this complexity is dependent on thorough training of our employees and physicians," said Ken Levitan, Ethe network's vice president and CIO.

The network is partnering with Infologic, a Hatboro, Pa.-based IT provider, to develop customized Web-based software to support to upcoming EMR implementation, training and adoption across the health system. Network officials expect the deployment of new software and EMR take up to six months to complete.

"While the ARRA stimulus act has put the spotlight on EMR implementations across the country, it's important to note that the ultimate success of any EMR endeavor is dependent on the ability of the hospital's clinicians and employees to utilize it properly," said Tom Kreuzberger, vice president of eLearning at InfoLogix.
