CHICAGO – The California Health and Human Services Agency has named Pamela Lane to be deputy secretary of the state’s health information exchange.
The <a href="/directory/american-health-information-management-association-ahima" target="_blank" class="directory-item-link">American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) praised the appointment, saying that, as an active member of AHIMA for 25 years, Lane is passionate about advancing the health information profession.

“We applaud Pam for her wonderful contributions to the health information industry and we are excited about the expertise in health information management she will bring to the State of California,” said Lynne Thomas Gordon, CEO of AHIMA in a written statement. “We are truly honored to have such dedicated and gifted members who believe in what they do and work hard to make a difference to improve the quality of health information for all.”
Lane, a Navy veteran who served in the Gulf War, has served as the vice president of health informatics at the California Hospital Association since 2007. She was senior director of revenue cycle management at NorthBay Healthcare from 2005 to 2007, director of business operations and health information management at Lompoc Healthcare District from 2001 to 2005, a senior installation specialist at QuadraMed Corporation from 1998 to 2005 and director of health information management at the Westerly Hospital from 1992 to 1998.
Lane, appointed by Gov. Edmund G. Brown, Jr., will start her appointment Feb. 17.
