It's final. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and ONC have released final rules for the EHR Incentive Programs, which they say will ease reporting requirements for providers and also allow for 90-day reporting periods. They also announced major news on Stage 3.

In the continued absence of a meaningful use final rule, physicians have been left hanging, according to the American Medical Association, which is calling for an "automatic hardship exemption" to protect docs from circumstances beyond their control.
