Partners Healthcare of Boston, Mass., is known nationally and internationally for their medical expertise and for setting the pace for healthcare around the world. Now, add to their accomplishments hosting the first HIMSS East Coast Nursing Informatics Institute Day (NII) event.
To be held on October 15, 2012, this NII promises to be collegiate. Collaborating on this HIMSS Organizational Affiliate's platform, Partners Healthcare will be the New England Nursing Informatics Consortium (NENIC) and the Organization of Nurse Leaders (ONL) of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. The NENIC and the ONL leadership will also participate and provide guidance and leadership to ensure a diverse and impactful nursing event.
These special HIMSS NII events are specifically geared toward the nursing profession and an opportunity for all to learn from the nation's leaders in Nursing Informatics. The speakers are specifically chosen for their national presence and nursing expertise all in an effort to promote nursing informatics. Additionally, they have been nurse pioneers helping to shape nursing informatics to its present day form. The Partners Healthcare program promises to be one of education, motivation and inspiration. Up front and personal interactions will be available with the speakers, and a question and answer session will be held for career opportunities in nursing informatics. Nurses will be able to build on their current nursing foundations and expand their knowledge base into present day informatics.
The event will occur at the Conference Center at Waltham Woods in Waltham, Mass. The agenda is insightful and full of skills and knowledge needed to further a nursing informatics career path. While the agenda continues to build and additional speakers identified, some of the speakers and topics covered include:
