Host a HIMSS CPHIMS Review Course
We continue to see the value of health IT certifications; certifications provide an insight into possible skills not otherwise demonstrated in career positions or roles. HIMSS distinguishes its certification by offering the CPHIMS mark of excellence. CPHIMS is a professional certification program for healthcare information and management systems professionals and is internationally known and identified as a seal of healthcare IT expertise. Individuals who secure the CPHIMS certification are designated a Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS). Learn more.
To further strengthen our ability to support those seeking to secure this HIMSS certification, Professional Development, Career Services offers hosting of the CPHIMS Review Course for those to review their skills and better understand topics needing more study prior to taking the exam.
Hosting a CPHIMS Review Course in your region and community provides an opportunity for those to bring the CPHIMS topics to an organization and has such benefits as: friends and colleagues share in the experience together and exchange actual real life and event examples, no travel required since the course is held in a local entity for ease of access and opportunities for group discounting based on how many in attendance for the review course. The requirements are minimal to host a CPHIMS Review Course and include: the review course is suggested to be scheduled with HIMSS National at least 3 months in advance with a minimum of 30 participants per Review Course and the host site would need to provide the event facilities. The CPHIMS course instructor is provided by HIMSS National directly. HIMSS National will also provide the slide handouts, example test questions and answers, course evaluations and analysis of the evaluation data for your site’s review. The HIMSS Dictionary of HIT Terms, Acronyms and Organizations will also be provided to attendees to support the review process prior to taking the CPHIMS exam itself. HIMSS National will also market the regionally held event through standard HIMSS communication outlets.
The host site can market the event directly and offer the review course as an added bonus to an existing meeting or event already scheduled. HIMSS Professional Development, Career Services recommends a minimum of 30 participants per CPHIMS Review Course but more is acceptable as group audience interaction with the trainer is invaluable; this provides backdrop and real world experience during the review course process.
