HIMSS Virtual Career Event

HIMSS is the leader in virtual events for the healthcare IT industry. So, it is natural to have yet another “first” for Professional Development, Career Services – a HIMSS Virtual Career Fair.  This “first” Virtual Career Fair will be held on Wednesday May 16, 2012 and will be a state-of-the-art, web-based event for connecting qualified clinical and non-clinical health IT job seekers with recruiters nationwide.  Also, by helping to facilitate the match between skilled candidates and employers, HIMSS will be supporting organizations in need of staff  in support of patient care advancements. 

The HIMSS Virtual Career Fair will bring together recruiting organizations, as well as healthcare      recruiters, and those looking to explore career opportunities in healthcare IT at a one-day online virtual event. Attendees will include various levels of healthcare IT professionals, including senior-level healthcare executives, as well as those looking to make a career change.  So, what is exciting about this event?  Health IT professionals at any point in their career, executives who are looking to advance their position, and health IT recruiters who need to fill a wide range of clinical and non-clinical positions can all connect with remarkable efficiency using this state-of-the-art web-based interactive venue.  And job seekers who attend the HIMSS Virtual Career Fair can search for positions and post a profile with multiple resumes. Also, job seeking enthusiasts will be required to provide only a minimum amount of information to register for the event (name, email address, message, and a brief bio of 30 words or less).  From this information, recruiters could then search across the site to pre-qualify attendees based on selected job category criteria.  Once a job seeker enters a recruiter’s virtual booth then more information would be shared in the virtual interaction.

This event is an invaluable opportunity to network with recruiters and other job seekers - a “must do” when trying to secure employment – networking!  Additionally, even C-suite and high-level executives will have a dedicated “floor” and will be able to search for positions that match their expertise. So, employers and recruiters can browse profiles and resumes, and interact with and interview job seekers from around the country using text, chat, video and email without ever leaving the office.
