The upcoming HIMSS Emerging Professionals Masters Class webinar series, a quarterly special series in our monthly Emerging Professionals Community, will be co-hosted by the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (ASHHRA) of the American Hospital Association (AHA). The webinar is entitled: ‘How to Build a Global Vocabulary for Health IT Employment Processes: From a CIO and CHRO Perspective”.
Rick Schooler, FHIMSS, FCHIME, FACHE, MBA, Vice President/Chief Information Officer and 2011 John E. Gall, Jr. CIO of the Year along with Nancy Dinon, Vice President, Human Resources, Orlando Regional Medical Center will be the presenters. This will be the first time HIMSS and ASHHRA have co-hosted an educational event. This promises to be exciting and informative and will provide a hiring perspective from two different c-suite views – the information technology department and the human resource touch point. A webinar attendee and potential health IT applicant will be able to gain insight into how the human resource executive screens the health IT applicant along with a corresponding complement from the health IT hiring manager. This will better assist us to understand what each looks for in a potential employee. Often, times a candidate cannot get through the initial human resource screen and the health IT staff and candidate wonder why? Perhaps the candidate or even the hiring manager is not positioning the necessary skills to optimize the hiring process? To shed light on this process, this unique Career Services Masters Class webinar event will focus on three key objectives to:
• To better understand the hiring practices encountered in today’s healthcare reform era
• To identify the skills valuable in the hiring process
• To learn skills and credentials in demand from a CIO and Human Resource perspective
This webinar will be held Friday, October 12th 12:00 - 1:00 pm Central. Registration is limited so register now.
