Most of the IT employees at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center have been with the department a while. Why? In part, because "they just have a good time," says Adem Arslani, the hospital's director of information systems and informatics. "We have a tight team," he adds. "We're well integrated, and we're very flexible."
Throughout the past three years, Arslani and his team received recognition from Advocate because of their can-do attitude, and their excitement about the latest technology.
Continuing education is also key in the department. "We increased the educational budget dramatically, so we're always encouraging folks to increase their certifications and education and to attend conferences," said Arslani. "Advocate is a great place to be, and (our department) adopted the attitude of improving customer service and making it a great place to visit."
